On December 6, after her bass-playing partner Dick Heijkenskjöld had called in sick, Malin Carlberg gave her enthusiastic audience a solo show and was joined by a guitarist from the audience for an impromptu encore. Hope to see and hear her in the shop again soon.


On November 15, Boris Zetterlund presented and read from his new book, Statisten, as well as his previous books and talked about his life experiences and how they influenced his writing. For more information about Boris and his books check out https://borisuz.com

On October 5, we celebrated our tenth anniversary with a party. Kevin Benn and Robin Gott presented a short play by Terrence McNally, “Botticelli” and Anand Kulkarni played an afternoon raga on his sitar.

On October 2, Giulia Cantone gave a concert of baroque lute music.

On October 1, the Bellevue String Quartet performed their new program, “Nordic Bridges” with selections of folk music from the Nordic countries.

On Sunday, April 27 Alison Luthmers gave a release party for her new cd of solo violin music by the Swedish composer J.H. Roman. She played pieces from the record as well as a duet with lutenist Giulia Cantone. Alison has been playing at the shop since we opened and it was an honor and a pleasure to help her celebrate the release of her first solo cd, which we now have on sale. A workshop at Andy’s Corner in the spring of 2024 led to the creation of a set of haikus by Birk Andersson to go along with nature-themed string quartets of Mozart and Haydn. The Bellevue String Quartet toured different Naturum around Skåne with this program and inspired audience members to write their own haikus along the way. On Sunday, January 26, they returned to Andy’s Corner to share the results of this musical-poetical journey.
Events in 2024

Josefin Hjertman held a release party for her bilingual book of poetry, Kan jag låna dina steg, on May 31.
On May 26, the Bellevue String Quartet presented their new nature-inspired program in the form of an interactive workshop with Birk Andersson, as well as members of the audience, writing haiku poems to the music. https://www.bellevuestringquartet.com/
On the neighborhood’s annual culture night on April 27, Erik Skogh read from and had a book launch for his new poetry collection, Ben. Erik returned on May 5 to arrange and take part in an event with several other authors who had presented their books at the shop.

The Bellevue String Quartet returned to Andy’s Corner on April 11 with a new program, “For Four” with music by Bach, Locke, Morley, Purcell, Schop and Guido Morini.


Rushina Ansari hosted a release party for her children’s book on April 6.

Our first event of 2024 was a book presentation by Mikael Pettersson on March 16 with Birk Andersson reading some of his latest haiku poems as an extra added attraction.

Magdalena Caris had a release party for her book, Bara Sådär, on December 9.


On November 17 Adrian Grist presented his book Transplanted and Exposed, a “memoir of ill health seen through the prism of a pandemic”.

We celebrated our 8th anniversary on Sunday, October 15 with Kevin Benn and Robin Gott performing a scene from “Sylvia” by A.R. Gurney, and Parag Sathe singing an Indian classical raag.

Alison Luthmers returned to Andy’s Corner on June 10 to play music by the Swedish baroque composer Johan Helmich Roman. Her concert was followed by a presentation by Birk Andersson of his latest book, Sju sorters haiku (Seven Kinds of Haiku).

On May 6, Indian classical singer Parag Sathe, who had performed at the shop at the benefit concert for Ukrainian refugees and at our seventh anniversary party in 2022 returned to Andy’s Corner with Mandar Phadke and Kaushik Gaundalkar playing harmonium and tabla, respectively, for a concert of Indian classical music.

Aspiring sitarist Anand Kulkarni visited Andy’s Corner on Saturday, April 1 to play the Raga Marubihag.
Events in 2022

On Saturday, December 3, 2022 Maria Bouroncle presented her books, Det kom för mig i en hast (which has recently been translated into English) and Flickan med en lapp om halsen. We have all three books on sale at the shop.
On Saturday, October 8, we celebrated our 7th anniversary with music, comedy and refreshments. Hyewon Lim, Lukacz Lisowski and Katlijn Sergeant from Malmö Symphony Orchestra and Indian classical singer Parag Sathe provided the music, and our old friends Kevin Benn and Birk Andersson supplied their own special brand of humor with a sketch based on a story by Ted Chiang and anarchistic haiku from Birk’s new book. Thanks to all who performed and all who joined us for the festivities!
On Saturday, May 21, Jan Sigurd, the well-known Malmö writer and entertainer who last visited the shop to present his book on Frithiof Nilsson Piraten, discussed his latest – Hemingway’s Last Flame, a revised English version of his book on Ernest Hemingway – with Hanna Fex, a young literary scholar. It was fun to hear Hemingway discussed across the generations and to see and hear Birgitta Friman, now Schreiber, the last flame herself, tell about meeting Hemingway in Spain in the 1950s as a teenager.
On April 30 Alison Luthmers and the Bellevue Quartet hosted a musical benefit for Ukrainian refugees.
On April 23 Edin Tucalija presented and read from his new book of poetry, En familjevän stiger på (A friend of the family comes by). Edin is a graphic designer who presented his previous book, Nattpoesi (Night poetry) at the shop some years back and also presented some of his latest artwork.
On April 9 Boris Zetterlund presented his novel, Stumt Ljus (Silent Light) which takes place in the days of silent film.

On October 23, 2021, we celebrated our sixth anniversary with a concert by Kaitlin Sergeant, Ignas Mazvila, and Johnny Teyssier.
On June 19, 2021 we had a BookJam concert, “Traveling with Roman,” with Ensemble Prima Vista.
On September 12, 2020, during the pandemic with a limited audience, we had a BookJam concert with music inspired by Shakespeare.
Music from Locke’s The Tempest and Purcell’s Fairy Queen together with passages from Shakespeare helped explore how Shakespeare used music to create magic in his plays.
The performers were the Bellevue String Quartet: Hannah Tibell, Violin Alison Luthmers, Violin Rastko Roknic, Viola Judith-Maria Blomsterberg, Cello along with Fredrik Bok, Theorbo
